Patio Door
Patio doors are big openings with a lot of glass and a lot of weight. They live or die on the sill prep. Flashing tape on the sill pan is non-negotiable.
Common questions
If you only watch one thing,
read these first.
- Why does my slider stick?
- The rollers are either packed with debris or worn out. Both are field-serviceable. We can adjust or swap them without removing the door.
- Hinged or sliding?
- Hinged French doors give you a wider open passage and look more traditional. Sliders are better when wall space outside the door is tight. Picking the wrong one is the most common patio-door regret.
- Will the new door fit my existing opening?
- Usually yes, but we measure the rough opening, not the trim. Old framing is rarely square and that affects the unit size you can order.
