Entry Door
Entry doors are the most common install we do. The performance is in the prep: a square, shimmed, taped rough opening will outlast the door itself.
Common questions
If you only watch one thing,
read these first.
- Why is my entry door letting in a draft?
- Nine times out of ten it's the weatherstripping or the threshold sweep, not the door itself. Both are replaceable in under an hour without pulling the slab.
- How do I know if my door is hung square?
- Open it halfway and let go. If it swings open or shut on its own, the hinges aren't plumb. That's a shim job, not a door problem.
- Fiberglass, steel, or wood?
- Fiberglass for most homes — it doesn't dent, doesn't rot, and takes paint or stain. Steel for security-first installs. Wood only when the look is the priority and you're willing to maintain it.
